This CORLEY Estate Grown Pinot Noir represents the terroir of Clone 777 grown in Block II of our main estate in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley - rich, elegant, and refined.
I find attractive aromas of raspberry, cola, cinnamon and hints of mushroom and pie crust on the nose. On the palate, the wine glides onto the palate, with a medley of rich texture and bright fruit. Full-bodied and well-balanced, the ripe berry flavors, bright oak character and rich textures coalesce into a warm finale.
Vineyard Notes
2013 was a wonderful wine-growing season in Napa Valley, a true classic. With the exception of a slight heat spike in June, the weather remained consistent throughout the growing season.
Winemaker Notes
Our 2013 Pinot Noir was hand-picked then further sorted on the crush pad. We fermented entirely in small bins for a slow, cool balanced extraction of aroma, flavor and texture during the 12 day fermentation. Cooler fermenting yeasts were utilized and malolactic fermentation took place in barrels. The wines were aged in French oak barrels for 18 months prior to bottling. This wine was not blended, but rather bottled entirely from Clone 777 in Block 2 on our Home Ranch Vineyard.
