Cabernet Sauvignon | Tietjen Vineyard | 2015 1.5L
Corley | Rutherford | 1.5L

The 2015 CORLEY Tietjen Vineyard wine is offering fantastic aromas of rich, ripe, red berry fruit with undertones of sweet vanillin oak and hints of caramel. On the palate, the wine is massive, with a wonderful core of fruit on the full mid palate. The balance of the wine from front to back is impeccable. The finish is long and carries the fruit beautifully.

All of our library wines are extremely limited in availability, in some cases just 2-3 cases of these wines remain. We have taken great care that these they have been cellared in here at our winery in the best of conditions. But because of age we must ask that these wines are sold as-is and purchases are limited to 3 bottles.

Tasting Notes
The 2015 CORLEY Tietjen Vineyard wine is offering fantastic primary aromas of rich, ripe red berry fruit. I find undertones of sweet vanillin oak and hints of caramel. On the palate the wine is massive, with a wonderful core of fruit on the full mid palate. The balance of the wine from front to back is impeccable, and the finish is long and carries the fruit beautifully. - Chris Corley
Ratings
WINE ENTHUSIAST: 91 Points -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JAMES SUCKLING RATING: 93 Points "Lots of chocolate, cappuccino and dark berry character. Full body, round tannins and a flavorful finish. Very balanced. Drink or hold." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WINE SPECTATOR 92 Points (James Laube) A seductive style that's ripe, plump and juicy, featuring dark berry, plum, cherry and wild berry notes, with light oak and loamy earth accents woven within. Drink now through 2030 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CONNOISSEURS’ GUIDE *ONE STAR (90 points - Fine example of wine without notable flaws.) Redolent of ripe red cherries and raspberries in its nicely layered, mid-density aromas and tipping ever so slightly more to ripeness than its mates, this bottling is the fullest and fattest of the Corley clan, but it does not cross the line into top-heavy excess and earns high marks for its sweet and well-sustained fruit. It is moderately tannic and finishes with a tag-end of heat yet is never less than invitingly juicy, and, while certain to benefit from further aging, it should round into shape a couple of years before its slightly sturdier siblings.

RESTAURANT WINE, RONN WIEGUND ****+ FOUR STARS+ (EXCELLENT quality for its type, style, and price. Among the very best of its type for its price. Very Highly recommended.) The Tietjen Cabernet, from Rutherford, is a richly flavored, full bodied, well structured wine tasting of black currant, rosehips, cedar, cherry, and spicy oak. Very long and somewhat tannic on the finish. Excellent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------AMERICAN FINE WINE COMPETITION - GOLD
Vineyard Notes
Located in the Rutherford AVA, our Tietjen Vineyard produces Cabernets that are rich, ripe, and elegant. The well-drained soils are composed of gravel, loam and sand with volcanic and marine influences. These components create the signature flavors of Rutherford Dust that this region is famous for.
Production Notes
2015 was another wonderful wine-growing season in Napa Valley. A true classic. A wet February gave way to a characteristically dry spring. Except for slight heat spikes in June and then again in July, the weather remained consistent throughout the growing season. The accumulation of heat during the summer led to a slightly early harvest. The sunny weather through to October allowed the grapes to develop more phenolic and flavor maturities with sugar levels remaining steady. The 2014 vintage repeated many of the blessings that came in the 2012 and 2013 vintages, from the deeply colored and velvety grape skins and brown seeds, to fully ripened grape tannins, and a wonderful natural balance of brix and acidity. Aged 26 Months in 50% new French Oak Barrels.
